چکیده
Introduction: Understanding the tendency of people towards traditional medicine and the causes of this tendency, will help universities of medical sciences to plan for providing targeted services to the public, Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of determining the rate of the inclination and tendency of Mashhad city people and the impact of media on it. Methods: This research is descriptive-analytic study which was conducted with the aim of determining the rate of people tendency towards traditional medicine and the impact of media on it. 1600 questionnaires were designed and distributed to people in four districts of Mashhad city. The data of the questionnaires were analyzed using factor analysis and statistical tests such as Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric, correlation coefficients, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis. Results: In the present study, more than 76% of people have positive tendency toward academic traditional medicine. According to the results of this research, the tendency towards non-academic traditional medicine is 68.38% and to the modern medicine 67.31%, which indicates greater tendency towards traditional medicine. In this study, based on the opinion of people, the impact of television on the tendency towards traditional medicine is greater than cyberspace and internet sites. Conclusion: According to the findings of this research, people are more inclined to traditional academic medicine, although this has been proven in this research, but it should be noted that the tendency to traditional medicine (non-academic) is higher than modern medicine, which could be an opportunity for The activities of interventional and profit-making people in the treatment and alarming of the public health. Health professionals should also benefit from the media ability to disseminate information about the use of traditional medicine.کلیدواژه ها
