چکیده

Electrically conductive coatings are required for a variety of applications such as static charge dissipation and electromagnetic/radio frequency interference (EMI/RF) shielding. Electrically conductive coatings are pepared by the incorporation of metallic pigments/graphite or carbon black into the binder[1-4]. In order to develop a conducting network within polymer matrix with as small an amount of filler as possible, one could consider using nanoscale fillers as conducting charges. When nanoscale conducting fillers are dispersed in polymer matrix, the particular morphology and structure developed provides the advantage in formation the conducting network. In this paper, at first, expand graphite was prepared in the presence sulfuric acid and nitric acid by heated shock at high temperature for short time. Then, the expand graphite was immersed in a aqueous alcohol solution and subjected to an ultrasonic bath to produce graphite nanosheet. The graphite nanosheet was incorporated with acrylic resin to produce conductive coating. Electrically conductive product composite was measured by four probe method. Structure and surface morphology of nano graphite were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The corrosion resistant property of the coatings on steel was determined by an electrochemical method(salt spray test). It was shown that coatings provided good corrosion protection of steel in corrosive solution. Adhesive measurements on steel by cross-cut test demonstrated that the blended coatings has significantly high strength of adhesion.The thermal stability was determined by TGA and a good thermal stability was observed. The excellent films can be used in several industrial applications.
