Background and Aim: Recently, lncRNAs have been noticed asregulatory factors for several biological mechanisms throughmodulation of gene expression. Among them, the TNF and HNRNPLrelated immunoregulatory (THRIL) lncRNA may be implicated in thepathogenesis of immune-related and inflammatory disease throughregulating the expression of TNF-α.Methods: In this study, we assessed the expression of THRIL in the bloodof 25 acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients in comparison to healthycontrols using real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR.Results: Results showed that there was no significant difference in theexpression level of THRIL lncRNA between AML patients and controlsubjects. Additionally, we did not find a significant association betweenmale subgroup and THRIL expression as well as females.Conclusion: In conclusion, our study demonstrated that THRIL cannotbe used as a reliable biomarker for AML diagnosis, although, the studyshould be confirmed by other studies.
