چکیده
Background and Objectives: Ureaplasmaurealyticum is readily transmitted venereally and vertically, either in utero or at delivery of the neonate. In this study, we survey the prevalence of antibiotic resistance among U. urealyticumisolates from Gonabad (KhorasaneRazavi province, Northeast of Iran). Materials and Methods:A total of 95 vaginal swabs specimens were aseptically collected from women who admitted to the Bohlool Teaching Hospital and JahadDaneshgahi Center, in94Gonabad city during a period of 12 months (from April 2016 to April 2017). Mycoplasma IST 2 kit was for the diagnosis and antibiotic susceptibility testing of Ureaplasma urealyticum. Results:In these studied patients, 38 (40.4 %) were positive for U. urealyticum. The concentration of bacteria in 33 (35.1%) isolates was upper 104 and in 5 (5.3%) isolates was lower 104.Tetracycline and doxycycline were the most effective antibiotics against isolates. The resistance rates of Ureaplasma urealyticum were more than 39% to erythromycin, and pristinamycin, and more than 55% to ciprofloxacin. Conclusion:The emerging resistance to tetracyclines among our isolates is alarming, but these overall figures indicate that the standard treatments for urogenital infections due to Ureaplasma urealyticum(i.e., doxycycline, tetracycline, clarithromycin), should lead to effective clinical outcomes in most cases.کلیدواژه ها
