چکیده

Background:Multiple sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory multifocal demyelination disease of the central nervous system. The CNS damage in MS is an associated with neural clinical manifestation including visual and sensory disorders, depression and organ paralysis. The aim of this review was to introduce the potential of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) produced from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in the treatment of MS. Search method: To study the systematic review, Science direct and pub med databases were searched in English from 01/01/2013 to 2015/12/31 with the keyword Multiple sclerosis and Hepatocyte growth factor. We find 14 papers in Pub med and find 141 papers inScience direct that selected and refined only from journals. According inclusion criteria that was effect of HGF on MS and exclusion criteria that was Lack of access to some resources, 35 articles were included in the study also Unofficial sources were used. In order to assess the quality of the initial studies, the form developed by the researcher was used. Results: The studies show that HGF reduced proinflammatory cytokine expression and enhanced anti-inflammatory cytokine expres sion, and markedly enhancedremyelination in animal model of MS. The observations that HGF is required for MSC-CM-mediated functional recovery in EAE is consistent with the observations that MSCs release a variety of growth factors including HGF and that this can be enhanced by stimulation with epidermal growth factor or TNF-α. Conclusion: Systemic treatment with HGF markedly accelerated reconstruction and restoration of myelin and nerve cells. Together these data strongly implicate HGF in mediating MSC-stimulated functional recovery in animal models of multiple sclerosis.
