چکیده

The scorpion Hottentotta Saulcyi venom was evaluated for its histopathological alterations of 11 the Sesamia nonagrioides organs. Experimental S. nonagrioides larval group were injected 12 with two doses of H. Saulcyi venom (0.50μl and 1μl) and compered with control group injected 13 by phosphate buffered saline (PBS) up to 1μl. This study demonstrated that H. Saulcyi venom 14 is able to cause major damages in S. nonagrioides midgut epithelium and malpighian tubules. 15 No degeneration or damage to the malpighian tubules and midgut was observed for larvae 16 injected with PBS. The microscopic observations, of the midgut of 0/5μl doses of venom 17 treated larvae, showed that a number of the cells was disorganized and lysed. In other hand, 18 clear histopathological alterations of intoxication were observed for all larvae injected with 1μl 19 doses of venom, including a distinctive lysing and disorganizing of midgut epithelial cells that 20 coupled with a progressive loss of the peritrophic membrane and the disappearance of 21 microvilli.
