چکیده
The centrally cracked Brazilian disc (CCBD) specimen has been used frequently in the literature forinvestigating mixed mode I–II fracture in brittle materials. In the past researches, mode I loading was just related tothe positive values of KI which leads to tensile tangential stresses in the crack bisector line. In this research, the CCBDspecimen is used for investigating the behavior of cracked components under compressive loading conditions. It isshown by means of finite element analysis that although the crack bisector line is under compressive loading, one sideof the crack tip still sustains tensile stresses. Several experiments have been done on the specimens in different loadingangles under negative KI conditions and the experimental values of fracture load and fracture initiation angle arereported.کلیدواژه ها
