خلاصه مقاله:
This paper analyzes the majority of Iranian EFL students social politeness as well as the covert ideology of the same, embodied in their socio-cultural behavior. In fact, this analysis is grounded in Fairclough s assumptions in critical discourse analysis, claiming that ideologies reside in texts or talks which are open to diverse interpretation that it is not possible to read off ideologies from texts and talks that texts and talks are open to diverse interpretations (Fairclough, 1995).The selected corpus ideological components were revealed, thus negative politeness or impoliteness was observed in the EFL learning context.
