چکیده

A very important segment of the West coast railway extension is the tunnel project through the Hallandsهs. Due to extremely difficultgeological conditions, the originally conceived tunnel construction design, with the idea to use a TB-Machine had to be changed. The tunnel is now drifted heading by blasting. An extensive narrow gapand crack system crosses the ridge of the Hallandsهs and complicates the injection works. After problematical trials to seal the rock against penetrating groundwater by chemical injection methods, now the project is continued by lining a test section of 2 × 500 m. Main component of this sealing system is a 4 mm Carbofol® Tunnel Membrane, which is designed for a water column of 150 m.
