چکیده

In the present study, commercial pure aluminum powders were successfully consolidated to nearly full density by a combination of conventional equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) and torsion deformation at room temperature. This new modification of ECAP is named torsional-equal channel angular pressing (T-ECAP). Density and micro-hardness test showed superior values for the samples produced by T-ECAP with respect to produced by ECAP, which also could be more improved by increasing the number of the applied passes. Examination of the compression test proved that TECAPed samples can plastically deform and exhibit high magnitude of ductility, with respect to the samples produced by the ECAP process. T-ECAP samples after compression test show barrel shape but ECAP samples failed in compression test.
