چکیده
This paper aims at bringing to light the sorts of shifts and equivalence in the Persian translation of English complex sentences. This research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method. The researcher categorizes the data into two groups: shift and equivalence. The equivalence is segregated into formal and dynamic equivalence according to Nida’s theory.In this study, Catford s classification of shifts, which encompasses structural shifts, unit shifts, rank shifts and intra-system shifts, have been unearthed. Based on 033 data, the outcomes of this study showed that in the Persian translation of these sentences, the shifts come about more than the equivalence, with the percentage of %79 and the equivalence with the percentage of 209.کلیدواژه ها

COI مخفف عبارت CIVILICA Object Identifier به معنی شناسه سیویلیکا برای اسناد است. COI کدی است که مطابق محل انتشار، به مقالات کنفرانسها و ژورنالهای داخل کشور به هنگام نمایه سازی بر روی پایگاه استنادی سیویلیکا اختصاص می یابد.
