چکیده

Using a solution casting technique, MWCNT/EPDM composite has been successfully prepared. The effects of adding different amounts of carbon nanotubes between 0 and 4 wt.% of polymer weight on morphological and mechanical properties of composites have been investigated. Also peroxide cross-linking (with 3 phr of dicumyl peroxide) to improve properties of nanocomposite has been used. With increase of CNTs loading, tensile modulus at 100% elongation, Young s modulus, elongation at break and crosslink density significantly was improved and swelling degree (SD) of prepared composites was reduced. Morphology of the fractured surfaces of MWCNT/EPDM nanocomposites was studied by FESEM. The carbon nanotubes were dispersed fairly well in the polymer matrix at lower concentration, but they were aggregated at higher concentrations (more than 2 wt.%).
