چکیده

Based on a lot of problems, today’s electrical power network is not suitable for the needs of 21st century. Smart Grid is the appropriate solution to resolve these problems. It provides automated monitoring and controlling of the network and many advantages through modern communications and digital systems. A wide range of data, transfers in the smart grid through computer networks. Network routers are important parts of computer networks and so smart grids to control and manage the data transitions. They can be classified to software based, hardware based and mixed. Hardware based group are faster and can be classified to simple and NOC (Network On Chip) based network routers which the second group are faster than the simple group when there are several nodes to communicate through the router. Routers latencies are important in smart grids. It is possible to have several nodes at a point of the smart grid which demand to communicate at the same time. The NOC based network routers are suitable for these points. It is proposed to integrate some of the communication demanding systems inside the chip of the NOC based network router to have more complete and suitable embedded system for smart grids
