چکیده

The preparation, Properties and applications of Layered Double Hydroxide (LDH) orhydrotalcite-like compounds (HTLcs) was first reported by F. Cavani et al [1] in 1991. HTLcshas received considerable interest during the last few decades because of its acting asprecursors for the preparation of catalytically active mixed oxides. The catalytic properties ofthe hydrotalcite-derived mixed oxides (HDMO) were reported by D.Tichit et al [2] in1997.The catalytic properties of Ni/Cu/Cr-HDMO in acetone hydrogenation to isopropylalcohol (IPA) was first reported by M. Rajabi[3] in 2008. Catalytic hydrogenation of acetoneto IPA based on environmentally approach was reported by A. Rahman [4] in 2010. AlthoughNi4.6Cu1.4Cr0.12CO3(OH)16.4H2O from M. Rajabi[4] is an active and selective catalyst in acetonehydrogenation, but it has toxic chromium. In this work Ni/Cu/Al-HDMO by the formula ofNi1.2Cu0.4Al0.4(OH)4(CO3)0.24H2O has been prepared by co-precipitation technique through thermalactivation of the corresponding hydrotalcite containing Cu2+, Ni2+ and Al3+and itsperformance in acetone hydrogenation reaction at near atmospheric pressure below 100 Chas been studied. However, studies and especially catalytic properties on Ni/Cu/Al-HDMOare scarce and rather uncommon for application in catalysis and only a limited number ofexamples exist in the literature [4-6].
