خلاصه مقاله:
The present research aimed to find out whether there were any relationship between Iranian test-takers’ fields of study and their performance on various sub-tests of TOEFL. The participants in this study were 113 individuals from four different fields of study: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and one group of unspecified test-takers whom we called Other fields”. The findings revealed that there was significant correlation coefficient between test-takers’ fields of study and their performance on different sub-tests of TOEFL. The implications for this study could be related to both TOEFL testing board for reconsidering the test in relation to Iranian test-takers and teachers of preparatory courses of TOEFL to focus on some sub-parts of the test and at the same time help their learners grasp the others.
