خلاصه مقاله:
The present study explores the effect of localization on reading comprehension of expository and narrative texts by Iranian EFL learners. Fifty Iranian EFL learners, in two groups of equivalent English proficiency, read either the original or localized versions of two expository and two narrative texts. Learners answered five multiple-choice and five true/false comprehension questions aimed for each text. The results indicated that the localization of both expository and narrative texts from the target language culture significantly enhances L2 readers’ comprehension.
