چکیده

Given the water scarcity crisis in many regions of Iran, managing water resources has become one of the key challenges. Pardis city, as a developing area with population growth and construction activities, requires strategies to reduce potable water consumption and optimize water resource management. One of the proposed solutions is the use of gray water in non-residential buildings. This type of water, produced from washing and bathing, can be treated and utilized for non-potable uses such as irrigation of green spaces and toilet flushing. However, implementing these systems faces challenges such as high costs, the need for proper filtration, and ensuring the quality of treated water. Efforts to address these challenges include designing affordable and practical systems for non-residential buildings that can meet the specific needs of Pardis city. The aim of this research is to explore the feasibility of implementing gray water treatment systems in non-residential buildings in Pardis city and analyze their advantages and disadvantages. The main research question is how gray water can be utilized to reduce potable water consumption in these buildings. Preliminary conclusions suggest that using gray water can significantly reduce potable water consumption and help preserve water resources. These systems, in addition to their environmental benefits, can also be economically feasible and contribute to the sustainable development of Pardis city.
