چکیده
Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, renowned for its history of devastating earthquakes.Numerous active faults crisscross the nation, giving rise to frequent and sometimes catastrophic seismic events. In ۲۰۲۳,Iran experienced ۸,۶۹۲ earthquakes with magnitudes exceeding ۲.۵ on the Richter scale, ۱۶ of which registered ۵ orhigher. Among these, the ۵.۹-magnitude earthquake in Khoy on January ۲۸, ۲۰۲۳, stands out as the largest earthquakeof the year, that causing significant damage. An analysis of the data from ۲۰۲۳ reveals that the year was marked by anextraordinary number and magnitude of earthquakes across Iran, with a substantial release of seismic energy across thecountry's diverse regions. Statistical analysis of earthquakes holds immense importance as a crucial step towards betterunderstanding Iran's seismically active zones and enhancing preparedness for these natural disasters. These statisticsunderscore that Iran remains at a serious seismic risk, necessitating the implementation of rigorous preventive measuresand comprehensive planning to mitigate the hazards associated with this devastating phenomenon. By raising publicawareness, strengthening building codes, and developing rapid earthquake warning systems, the destructive consequencesof these natural disasters can be significantly reduced, safeguarding lives and property from the sudden tremors of theearth.کلیدواژه ها
