Comparison of Metacognitive Beliefs, Hard Work and Health-Oriented Lifestyle in Blind and Normal People of Behbahan City

چکیده

The purpose of this research was to compare metacognitive beliefs, hard work and health-oriented lifestyle in blind and normal people of Behbahan city. The current research is descriptive and of a causal type after the occurrence (causal-comparative). The participants in this research were ۸۰ people (۴۰ blind and ۴۰ normal) from Behbahan city. Participants in the visually impaired group were selected by purposive sampling; In this way, referring to the special centers for the blind covered by the welfare organization and the universities of Behbahan city, and people over ۲۰ years old with visual impairment as a sample, and to select the sample of normal people over ۲۰ years old, the available sampling method was also used, and ۳ universities (Azad Islamic, Payam Noor, and Khatam Al Anbia) located in Behbahan city were chosen for this purpose. In the current research, Wells and Cartwright's (۲۰۰۴) metacognitive beliefs questionnaires, Kubasa's hard work (۱۹۷۹), and Walker et al.'s (۱۹۸۷) health-oriented lifestyle questionnaires were used. Also, in this research, two descriptive and inferential methods were used to analyze the obtained data; At the descriptive level, statistical indicators include: average and standard deviation; And in the inferential statistics section, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to check the normality or non-normality of the variables, as well as the MANOVA multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to analyze the research hypotheses. All data analysis steps were done using SPSS-۲۱ software; finally, the results showed that there is a significant difference between blind people and normal people, at least in terms of comparing metacognitive beliefs, hard work and health-oriented lifestyle.
