چکیده

Background: Re-hospitalization is a key measurement tool to evaluate health care outcomes. This study aimed to identify and prioritize the risk factors of readmission and its consequences in patients with Covid-۱۹ admitted to Shahid Valian Hospital in Aligoudarz city. Methods: The statistical population consisted of ۱۴۷۷ patients admitted with the diagnosis of COVID-۱۹ "probable" or "confirmed" from February to November ۲۰۲۰. ۵۵۰ confirmed COVID-۱۹ patients were discharged alive and ۶۳ patients were readmitted within ۳۰ days of discharge. Data were extracted from patient records, HIS and MCMC. Data analysis and determination of readmission risk factors were performed by SPSS software version ۲۵ and hierarchical analysis process (AHP) was used to prioritize them. Results: Risk factors for readmission were underlying diseases (diabetes, heart diseases, chronic lung diseases, chronic neurological diseases, dialysis and hypertension), clinical status (length of hospital stay), demographic factors (age and insurance coverage) and smoking, respectively. Readmission is associated with poor outcomes and increased mortality. Conclusions: Based on the results, it is necessary to pay attention to the risk factors of readmission, using safe discharge tools such as SMART, nursing home services and social work services for vulnerable patients.
