The effect of aromatherapy inhaler with damask rose on the level of postpartum depression in women at risk who had referred to selected healthcenters of Yazd in ۱۳۹۴.

چکیده

Introduction: Postpartum depression is one of the most common problems of women in pregnancy age. With regard to the adverse effects of drugs such as Psychotropic and the trend of most of mothers to use complementary medicine more than other chemical medicines in Breastfeeding period، this paper aims to investigate the effect of aromatherapy inhaler with damask rose & lavender in third three months of pregnancy on the level of postpartum depression in women at riskMethod: This article is a clinical trial in which ۳۳ women with proper conditions who had files of pregnancy care in health centers of Yazd were selected. To evaluate the degree of depression، we had used Edinberg scale. In invention group، the mothers were asked to drop ۷ drops of lavender essence with ۱ cc rosewater on a specific cloth and breath it ۱۰ times before sleeping and put it near their pillow. Then ۲ - ۶ weeks after initiating invention، the degree of depression was measured. Data were analyzed by version ۲۱ software and description- inferential statics، variance analyze tests، Chi-square، fisher & Friedman.Results:The average score of depression (p < /۰۱)(p < /۰۰۱) on ۲ – ۶ weeks after childbirth was decreased meaningfullyconclusion:The results of this survey showed that aromatherapy inhaler had effect on decreasing the level of depression. So it is a proper alternative method to decrease the level of depression.
