Evaluating the Impact of Gamification Technology on Pediatric Asthma During COVID-۱۹: A Systematic Review

چکیده
Background and objective: Asthma is the most common chronic disease in childhood that today with the advent of the Covid virus ۱۹ and its effect on the lungs and blood oxygen levels. Therefore, the use of gamification technology for patient care and self-management in order to improve asthma symptoms play an important role. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of gamification technology on pediatric asthma during Covid ۱۹ disease.Search Method: The present study was conducted as a systematic review, by searching the databases of scopus, science Direct, PubMed and Google Scholar search engine, and the PRISMA workflow diagram was used to select articles. English input language and time range ۲۰۲۱-۲۰۱۹ were used for the search. The found articles were about ۱۱۰ articles, of which ۳۲ articles were included in the study. In the next stage, the quality of the articles was evaluated based on a ۱۲-item checklist of CASP diagnostic test studies, and finally ۱۰ articles related to the research were selected.Findings: A total of ۱۰ articles were included in the study. Of these, ۷ articles that reviewed ۶ serious games reported player satisfaction. Regarding self-efficacy, after the intervention, self-efficacy was associated with improvement in ۲ studies and no change was observed in ۳ studies. All studies evaluated the improvement of knowledge. In the pre- and post-evaluation, children's knowledge was improved in all but one case. In randomized controlled trials, ۶ serious games were associated with improved knowledge in the control group and no significant differences were observed in the three cases. Three studies also evaluated behavior change, one of which showed that children were associated with behavior change after playing compared to the control group. But in the other two studies, there was no difference in children's behavior between the experimental and control groups.Conclusion: Serious games for teaching asthma allow children to learn effectively while having fun. However, despite most of the serious game group trends, no significant differences are seen for clinical outcomes.کلیدواژه ها
