چکیده

The aim of this research was to determine the degree of relationship between prior exposure to ICT and the use of e-book features as a textbook among virtual university students who had the maximum amount of exposure to this resource. The research was an applied one and the method employed was correlational. The subjects this study were all the virtual university students taking general English source in the first academic semester of ۱۳۹۶-۱۳۹۷. They were ۲۲۶ students out of which ۱۴۵ were selected using Cochran's C test. The data was collected using two questionnaires one related to prior exposure to ICT with ۱۵ questions and reliability of ۰.۹۴۰ and the other related to special features of e-books with ۳۵ questions reliability of which was estimated to be ۰.۹۳. The data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential tools using SPSS software. The Spearman and Pearson correlation coefficient revealed that there was a statistically significant relationship between ICT and special features of e-books such as hyperlinks, search, multimedia capabilities, customization and bookmarking. Among these features hyperlinks had the highest amount of relationship and customization had the lowest amount of relationship with prior exposure to ICT.
