چکیده
Nowadays, the role of transport in sustainable development is very clear and irrefutable. Outstandingcontribution to the transport sector in the development of urban infrastructures in countries reflects theclose relationship of all sub-sectors of the economy with the transport sector. On the other hand, ininvestigating the role of transport in sustainable development, it is necessary to consider factors such asthe environment, social influences (customers expectations) and, of course, the enterprise. This articleexamines the impact of rail transport on urban development in Iran during the years 1975 to2014. Autoregressive method with distributed lag is used for the analysis of Econometrics. And to checkthe development of rail transport, the load factor in tons multiplied by the kilometer, distance in terms ofperson multiplied by the kilometer and the number of passengers are used and the amount of consumablediesel indicator is used to consider the environmental indicators. Finally, the conclusion is that the loadin tons multiplied by the kilometer, distance in terms of person multiplied by the kilometer and thenumber of passengers and consumable diesel has a meaningful impact on urban development in theshort-term and long-term.کلیدواژه ها
