چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: A high number of recreational runners sustain a running-related injury each year. Motion control footwear was designed to limit excessive foot motion in runners, but its clinical efficacy has not been well reported. This study investigated the effect of motion control shoe on kinetics variables during running. Methods: Studies were in initially sought in English languages from the Google Scholar, MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, and PubMed databases. Data extraction was performed by the four authors. Following keywords were used for searching process: ground reaction force, motion control shoes, kinetics, and running variables. Eight studies were considered suitable. Finally, a total of studies were placed in the review process. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that a motion control shoe can control the subtalar joint pronation by decreasing the amount of adductor moment during running. However, it is demonstrated that motion control shoe increased knee adductor moment during running. Knee adductor moment is associated with higher medial knee joint loading.
