coronavirus and post-accident stress disorder: A systematic review

Background: Infectious disease caused by Coronavirus is one of the most unknown andthreatening pandemics in the world, which has been associated with many complicationsand deaths so far. Mental disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder is one of themost important complications of this disease.Material and Methods: This article is a systematic review article for which 36 relatedarticles are indexed in Google Scholar, Up ToDate, PubMed, Scopus were examined.Among them, 15 articles that were most related to the title of the research were used towrite this article.Results: Half of the people who have faced disasters and accidents suffer from mentaldisorders, of which post-accident stress disorder is one of these disorders. Findings fromthe present study showed that in people recovering from coronavirus disease, stressdisorder it has increased dramatically since the accident. In healthy people withoutcoronavirus, fear of getting sick, prolonged quarantine,the illness and death of thosearound them has been a factor in increasing the likelihood of this disorder. Amonghealthcare professionals, fear of disease transmission, fatigue, prolonged pandemics,frustration, insufficient information about the disease, lack of effective drugs andvaccines, have increased the risk of developing this mental disorder in this group.Conclusions: Coronavirus disease can have several effects on community mental health,So to reduce complications psychology of this disease on patients, recovering people,health care personnel and other people in the community should be effectively plannedfor counseling and necessary interventions.
