An Investigation of Iranian EFL Teachers’ Attitudes toward the Usefulness of Audio Visual Aids on Learning Listening in EFL Classroom

Nowadays, language teachers are using different audio-visual aids to facilitate the teaching process. Along with text books, language teachers are likely to use related smart board, audio clips, videos, power point slides, posters and so on in language classrooms. The purpose of present study is to investigate the attitude of Iranian EFL teachers towards using audio-visual aids on learning listening in EFL classroom. A qualitative method has been followed to collect the data of this research. The participants were 50 Iranian EFL teachers with the age of 25-50 that were both male and female selected all teachers in Sari north of Iran. Also a close-ended and open-ended questionnaire administered for this researches. Descriptive statistics including mean and standard deviation were utilized to analyze the participants` answers to the items of the attitude questionnaire. The results were indicative of positive attitudes of the participants towards to using audio- visual aids on learning listening in EFL classrooms
