چکیده مقاله:

Beaches play an important economic role around the world, and it is essential to protect them from dangers such as flooding. Waves rising on the shores due to various phenomena such as earthquakes can cause extensive financial and human losses in these areas in a short period of time. For this reason, modelling these waves and predicting their formation is very important. In the present study, a finite volume numerical model based on shallow water equations has been used to model the rising waves. Shock capture schemes have been selected to model the flux passing through the cell faces. Using the proposed model, wave propagation, run-up and run-down on coast are simulated. The results of the present model are compared and analysed with laboratory results, which shows the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed model. Examination of the results shows that the use of WAF method with second-order accuracy improves the modelling results, especially in the process of rising and falling wave formation.
