چکیده مقاله:

In the present research, the hydrophobicity of epoxy coatings for outdoor high voltage insulators has been improved. Cycloaliphatic epoxy resins have a higher resistance to UV radiation compared to Bisphenol A or Bisphenol F diglycidyl ether epoxies (DGEBA and DGEBF) which make them a suitable coating of outdoor high voltage insulators. The hydrophobization of epoxy coatings prevents forming a conductive layer on epoxy coatings which leads to surface leakage current. To this end, the coating has been composed of cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, polydimethyle siloxane (PDMS), titanium dioxide nanoparticles, hydrophobic nano-silica, and aluminum hydroxide micro-particles. The optimal composition percentage was obtained for a hydrophobicity contact angle of 130°. The samples were exposed to ultraviolet radiation in an accelerated test device and Their Contact angles were measured during the radiation test.
