چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Air pollution caused by industrial smoke is one of the biggest environmental problems in the world and has adverse effects on human health. Prostate lesions are also one of the most common health problems in men. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of traffic pollution on the incidence of benign and malignant prostate lesions. Methods : The present study was conducted through a systematic review to search for articles from the Scopus, Google Scholar, Embase, Pubmed, WOS, Magiran and SID databases with English keywords: prostate cancer, NO2, prostate cancer, NO2, Hyperplasia, traffic-related air pollution, and equivalent Persian words were performed. The observational articles published from 2000 to November 2019 were reviewed and their quality assessed by strobe checklists. Results : From a total of 230 articles, 14 were included in the study. NO2 was the most important gas investigated in air pollution due to traffic in the articles under study. The combination of data with a sample size of more than 50 million people living and moving in large contaminated cities around the world showed a significant relationship between traffic pollution and prostate lesions. Conclusion : Air pollution with nitrogen dioxide gases and particulate matter less than 0.1 micron resulting from incomplete diesel fuel and automobile traffic is a major risk factor for benign and malignant prostatic lesions.
