Getting a product without causing defects, that happened whether during or after the process, such as wrinkling, surface distortion and springback, it is one of the main challenges in industrial sheet metal forming processes. To predict springback most of the methods used to assume a constant Young s modulus during deformation, but recent researchers show to predict springback accurately, modulus variation has to be considered.This work is a new study to investigate the effect of the variation of elastic modulus with pre-strain on springback in roll forming to develop the finite element (FE) simulation and control the springback to an acceptable level. In this study, ST-37 and ST-12 sheets with the thickness of 2 mm were used. The uniaxial tensile tests were employed to determine the variation of elastic modulus. Finally, the numerically predicted value of the springback was validated by the roll forming experiments. As a result, it found that the variation of elastic modulus has a significant impact on springback accuracy.
