چکیده
In this work, alpha-cyclodextrin cross- linked titanium dioxide nanoparticles (αCD-en/TiO 2 NPs) as an efficient nanoadsorbent were synthesized and used to remove disperse red 1 (DR1), crystal violet (CV) and malachite green (MG) dyes from synthetic wastewater. Characterization of cyclodextrin-modified TiO 2 nanoparticles using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis revealed that the TiO2 nanoparticles were effectively modified with alpha-cyclodextrin (α-CD). The effects of environmental factors including pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, initial dye concentration and temperature on the adsorption capacity of the αCD-en/TiO2 NPs were investigated in details. The results of this study showed that the αCD-en/TiO2 NPs has a high adsorption efficiency toward organic dyes, and was comparable with other adsorbents. In addition, the adsorbent presented can be used in several adsorption-desorption cycles. The dye adsorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics using αCD-en/TiO2 NPs were also investigated. The results showed that Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order model well describe the dyes adsorption process on the αCD-en/TiO2 NPs. Additionally, the maximum adsorption capacity of DR1, CV and MG onto αCD-en/TiO2 NPs were found to be 103, 97 and 123 mg/g, respectively. Furthermore, the calculated thermodynamic parameters showed that the adsorption process of the studied dyes was endothermic. The proposed adsorbent has been successfully applied to remove model dyes from aqueous solutions with satisfactory results.کلیدواژه ها
