Report of wound healing management in the case of scorpion sting by modern dressing

The Purpose: Scorpion stings are one of the health problems in many parts of the world. The most important symptom that helps diagnose scorpion sting is its local and general clinical symptoms. A local sign of sting is variable of inflammation, redness and ecchymosis to conflict of subcutaneous tissue and fascia involvement. We report a consecutive case of Scorpion Sting and Necrotizing Fasciitis treatment by modern dressing.The main materials and methods used: Case report: A 45-year-old factory worker who reported sudden pain, itching, and inflammation in the upper left femur. After 24 hours developed a 40-degree fever, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and exacerbated local symptoms. She referred to local clinic and did not report Improvement of clinical and local symptoms after receiving antibiotics. She referred to Amin Hospital in Isfahan after a week. After skin and infectious consultation and more investigations, the diagnosis of scorpion sting is given according to the place of residence and the effects of the injury. At the time of admission, necrotic tissue was observed with 8x5 cm dimensions. A consultation with a Wound Specialist was requested, immediately debridement was performed and due to the full thickness and involvement of adipose tissue, autolytic and sharp debridement was performed in several steps and lots of adipose tissue was removed. The main results obtained: After two weeks, cavity showed a clean wound covered with healthy granulation formation during the treatment by collagen dressings. It repaired without scarring.The main conclusions of work: Proper and timely diagnosis of scorpion bites and initiation of proper wound healing will result in a reduction in treatment duration and maximum recovery. At this case Instant debridement and adipose growth factor had a significant role in wound healing that In combination with modern dressings provides varies advantages.
