چکیده مقاله:
INTRODUCTION: PG is a neutrophilic dermatosis as a part of a complex systemic auto inflammatory process. The literature indicates an incidence of 0.3-1.0/100,000 inhabitants. Thus, the PG is one of the so-called orphan diseases. The exact aetiology of PG is unknown. The presence of abnormal neutrophils and T-cells lead to immune dysregulation with increased levels of inflammatory mediators. Patients with pyoderma gangrenosum have atypical, painful, deep and exudative ulcers. Unfortunately, the healing of these wounds is prolonged which lead to impaired quality of life. Due to too much pain and exudate, the treatment of these patients is very complex and difficult.AIM-CASE REPORT: The aim of this study is to report a case of pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) caused by ulcerative colitis which is healed with new methods of wound healing.CASE REPORT: The case was a 30-year-old man with severe (PG) ulcers in the unexpected axillary region. The wound was treated for a week with traditional dressing and tacrolimus ointment But there were no signs of healing hadn t seen in the wounds. In this patient wounds were washed with standard saline solution. Silver alginate was used to control exudate and prevention of secondary infections. Medical honey and hydrogels were used for atolytic debridement. Finally, the wound was closed by superabsorbent secondary dressing. In the process of using this method, the wounds healed completely in 4 weeks. Because of the presence of (PG) ulcers in the axillary areas. This is a special case. In addition, in Iran only a limited number of new dressings and new wound management techniques have been used for PG, including this patient.CONCLUSION: According to the results of this study, new dressings can be used for the management of pyoderma gangrenosum wounds.
