چکیده مقاله:

Purpose: Colorectal cancer also known as colon cancer is the development of cancer from the colon or rectum (parts of the large intestine),.There are different treatments for colorectal cancer which have side effects. Polyphenol components are class of antioxidant in plants that have biological functions like anticancer effects with low side effcet. Here we investigate the effect of Trachyspermum ammi essential oilon colorectal cancer cell line (sw47) in presence of lowlevel laser irradiation.Method: The colorectal cancer cell lines were exposed to 660nm low level laser then the cells were treated with different concentration of Trachyspermum ammi essential oil. In another study, cells were treated with different concentrations of essential oil initially and then were exposed to low power laser irradiation for 90 seconds. Effect of the low level laser and essential oil on cell survival and ROS generation was evaluated by using MTT assay, and flow cytometry, respectively. Result: The results showed that early treatment with Trachyspermum ammi essential oil and then low level laser reduced the survival of breast cancer cells more than the early treatment with low level laser irradiation then essential oil. Also Trachyspermum ammi essentioal treatment at IC50 concentration plus low level laser irradiation induced ROS generation in WS48 colon cancer cells as compared to the dark group.
