چکیده
Background and Aim : Introduction: One of the most important health problems in recent years in the world is the high prevalence of substance abuse and addictive disorders. Psychological factors play an important role in the vulnerability, exacerbation, recurrence and craving of these disorders. In this regard, the aim of this study was to compare the defense styles of opium addicted women and womenMethods : Method: This descriptive study is of causal-comparative type. The statistical population of the study consisted of all referrals to addiction treatment centers in Karaj. The subjects of the study consisted of 50 patients (25women and 25men) from opiate addicts who were selected through purposive samplingmethod from medical centers. In this research, the DSQ defensive styles scale was used which is valid and reliable.Results : Results: The results showed that opium addicted women are more use neurotic defense styles (including defamation, false friendship, idealization, and reversal), and addicted men are more optimistic than immature defensive styles (including: diffraction , Passive aggression, outsourcing, insulating, valuing, autistic craftsmanship, denial, displacement, decomposition, divisibility, rationalization and physicalization).Conclusion : Conclusion: The results show that unrealistic defensive styles (neurotic and immature) are risk factors for drug abuse. And by training on the use of grown-up defenses,and reducing the use of ineffective defense styles (focusing on neurotic styles for women and immature defensive styles for men), the risk of substance abuse can be reducedکلیدواژه ها
