Background and Aim : Addiction is a physical, psychological and psychological disorder that due to its progressive nature in all aspects of life endangers one s health, family and society. In fact, this is a major personal and social problem that in addition to its physical and psychological complications for addicted people, also threatens the health of the community socially, economically, politically and culturally. So, the aim of this study was the comparative investigation of religious orientation and family affective climate in addicted and nonaddicted people. Methods : 97 addicted and 102 nonaddicted people were selected and answered to Alport & Ross religious orientation inventory and family affective climate inventory. MANOVA formula was used to analyze the data. Results : Results showed that that there are significant differences between variables of two groups. Nonaddicted people got higher and significant scores in religious orientation and components of family affective climate (confirmation, fondling, common experiences, gifting, applauding, confidence and security sensation).Conclusion : Based on research it is concluded that family and religious are main factors that plays a tremendous role in the behavior of people especially tendency to addiction.
