خلاصه مقاله:
Ever increasing urban population and rural to urban migration alongside the economic growth are the main causes of urban growth. While UN report is estimated that by 2050, about 70% of world population will settle down at urban areas, Iran’s urban population will be about 80% of the country total population which is 10% above mean world urban population. Unplanned and rapid urbanization have led to many negative impacts on the environment, such as urban sprawl, the loss and fragmentation of agricultural lands and of natural areas that support wildlife. To avoid these impacts, informed and smart city planning and management has to be considered. While massive amount of data is being produced at urban areas from geo sensors, aerial and space-borne sensors and big spatial data are being used more and more in city daily management decisions, the problem of data quality and uncertainty modeling would be a big issue in smart city management. Smart city encompasses elements such as smart transport, smart environment, smart disaster management, smart governance, smart life, smart tourism and smart economy. Although smart city consists of a number of information and communication technologies (ICTs), internet of things (IoT), ubiquitous sensor networks (USN), some smart data and services, necessary measures should be taken into account that the smart city be designed in such a manner to improve access to the spatial data, services, solve interoperability issues, facilitate heterogeneous data integration and finally improve quality of life for the citizens. All these elements of a smart city should facilitate the transition of digital city to smart city where much beyond capabilities than smart data, services and technologies be integrated in an ICT-based city management environment. A smart city should also consider social, economic, technical and cultural issues to facilitate proper public private partnership in a collaborative and intelligent city management. This presentation includes a number of case studies on different elements and perspectives of a smart city.
