چکیده

Iran is one of the best areas for rice cultivation. Considering the fact that 17-20 percentage of agricultural production of Iran is waste material, a copious amount of energy can be produced using agricultural wastes (like rice straw). The aim of this paper is prioritizing provinces of Iran country in order to biogas production from rice straw. By reviewing literature, relevant criteria were identified. Average of expert’s opinions were utilized as criteria weights. Then, simple additive weighting was applied for ranking provinces. Based on results, Mazandaran, Gilan and Khuzestan are best provinces to establish a biogas plant based on rice straw.
