چکیده

Background: Neuronal tissue has a limited potential to self-renew or get repaired after damage. Cell therapies using stem cells are promising approaches for the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) injuries. Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSC) could represent an alternative source of stem cells for replacement therapy.Methods: These articles are based on most related articles published since 2019 that rats has been examined. In some articles ,cultured MSCs were transplanted into the experimentally injured spinal cord of Wistar rats. In another article , E-cadherin(a transmembrane adhesion protein, has been identified as an epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition marker and is vital for morphological structure maintenance and the functional integrity of epithelial cells) with MSCs were transplanted in rats with spinal cord injury(SCI).In another one, neural stem cells (NSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were injected to rats with SCI.Results: Rat MSCs expressed positivity for a panel of MSC markers CD29, CD54, CD90, CD73, and CD105. An in vivo study was used to assess the long-term survival of grafted NSCs with E-cadherin .The results of another article demonstrated that the surviving stem cells in the hNSCs + hUC-MSCs (human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells) group were significantly increased compared with those in the hUC-MSCs alone and the hNSCs alone. Conclusion: The results demonstrate that BM-MSC has the potential to repair the injured cord in rat models of SCI. In another study mentioned , the past results are not always successful, as the grafted cells may be unable to survive in the injured spinal cord but, grafted NSCs with highly expressed E-cadherin facilitated motor function recovery following SCI by reducing the release of inflammatory cytokines. At last ,Co-transplantation of hUC-MSCs and hNSCs displayed the best outcome in the experiment.
