چکیده

Background: Ticks are transmitting disease-causing organisms to human and animals. The agents that they can transmit are different, like viruses, bacteria, rickettsia, Many ticks known as ectoparasite of livestock and play an important role in animal welfare and cause considerable economic losses.METHODS: During this study 255 ticks were collected from 219 ruminant including 44sheep, 63goats, 99 cows, 13 camel. The study was conducted in two district of mountainous area of Golestan Province (Azadshahr and Ramian) in 2009-2010.RESULT: During this survey two genera of ticks were found: Rhipicephalus (70.1%) and (29.9%) Hyalomma . The five species were identified as follow: Rhipicephalus sanguineus(66.5%), Rhipicephalus bursa (4.6%), Hyalomma marginatum 19.9%, Hyalomma anatulicum (6%) and Hyalomma asiaticum (4%). In this study 14% of all ticks collected from cows, 36% from sheep, 5% from camels and 45% of ticks from goats.CONCLUSION: In this survey we studied tick species from domestic animals in Southeast Golestan use of geographic information system. GIS is an excellent tool for monitoring vector born disease and their species dispersal over time and in places. There is a risk that the disease so far have been reported from these areas attended the carriers they publish
