چکیده
Background: Mosquitoes are the most important vectors of disease in the world which transfer important diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, dengue fever, and filariasis to human.Anopheles mosquitoes are the only biological vectors of malaria. Objectives: Since vector control is not possible without knowledge of their biology, the aim of present study was to determine the Anopheles mosquito fauna in Dasht-Arjen region in Fars province.Material and Methods: Larvae of Anopheles mosquitoes were caught in a cross-sectional study from Dasht-Arjen region on September 2019. Larvae were captured by standard dipping, the specimens were canned with lactophenol solution and transferred to the medical entomology laboratory of school of health (SUMS). The species identification was done by using reliable identification key (Shahgudian ER) under bylan (40X) microscope. Results: In total,4 specimens including: An.stephensi, An.dthali, An.turkhudi and An.claviger larvae were identified from different point of Dasht-Arjen region. Species percentage were An. dthali 55%, An. stephensi 35%, An.turkhudi 5% and An.claviger 5% respectively. The most abundant larvae of Anopheles belonged to permanent waters with calm flow in Arjan Lake. Conclusion: Due to climate changes and increase the rainfall in Fars province and Dasht-arjen region after many years, were observed the main vectors of malaria again, it is necessary for health workers to seriously attend to malaria vectors control programکلیدواژه ها
