Comparison of Seismic Performance of Composite RCS Frames with and without Effects of Modeling of Connections

چکیده
One new type of composite moment frame system which is comprised of reinforced concrete (RC) columns and steel (S) beams is referred to as composite RCS moment frames. This system permits the primary steel beam to run continuous through the reinforced concrete column. A main challenge in design of RCS frames lies within the unique connection between the steel beam and the RC columns, and thus, the primary focus of past research has been on these composite connections. Composite RCS joints are designed using updated 1994 ASCE guidelines for design of joints between steel beams and reinforced concrete columns. The joint is simulated by a two-dimensional joint model with dual springs in series to capture the deformation mechanisms of composite joints. In this paper, influence of beam-column RCS joint behavior on seismic performance of RCS frames was investigated. Several RCS frames were modeled and Pushover analysis was performed in Opensees software considering RCS joint behavior, and was compared to RCS frames with rigid beam-column connections. It was found that RCS frames show higher load capacity and better seismic behavior and performance, when joint modeling is considered in the analysis, and thus, its effect on frame response should not be ignored.کلیدواژه ها

COI مخفف عبارت CIVILICA Object Identifier به معنی شناسه سیویلیکا برای اسناد است. COI کدی است که مطابق محل انتشار، به مقالات کنفرانسها و ژورنالهای داخل کشور به هنگام نمایه سازی بر روی پایگاه استنادی سیویلیکا اختصاص می یابد.
کد COI به مفهوم کد ملی اسناد نمایه شده در سیویلیکا است و کدی یکتا و ثابت است و به همین دلیل همواره قابلیت استناد و پیگیری دارد.
