Liquefaction modeling of cantilevered retaining walls with different backfill cohesions was performed. The effect of different values for backfill cohesions on pore pressure generations, seismic earth thrust behind the wall, horizontal displacement, and settlement of the wall bottom during seismic loading was investigated. Finn-Byrne model was used to calculate pore pressure generations. Linear elastic-perfectly plastic behavior with Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion applied for the backfill soil. A fully coupled mechanical-fluid analysis approach was used for the liquefaction analysis. The results showed differences between recorded pore pressure values for different backfill cohesions at a point at the vicinity of the wall. The study showed that increasing the backfill cohesion decreased the total seismic earth thrust behind the wall, settlement of the wall, and lateral displacement of the wall significantly.
