New Designed of fluorescence activating B-barrel

The design of proteins enables protein engineers to craft new proteins optimized to bind chosen small-molecul .Beta barrels are single beta-sheet that twist to form a closed structure which the first strand is hydrogen bonded to the last . B-barrel motif can bind hydrophobic molecules such as retinol in the interior of the barrel . Anti paralle B-barrels are excellent scaffolds for ligand binding . with beta barrels larger compounds such as sugars or various drugs can be transported . Rotamer interaction field (RIF) docking method generates an esemble of billions of discrete amino acid chains that make hydrogen-binding and non-polar hydrophobic interactions with the target ligand and also creat cavity inside the protein.as a conclusion designing new B-barrel by changing the intrinsic diameter of barrel is used as ligand carrier.
