چکیده
Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between new predictors of obesity, the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and metabolic complications related to its. Materials and Methods: In this case-control study, 110 T2DM patients and 110 healthy subjects (male and females with the age range of 30-60 years) were randomly selected. 5 ml of blood was taken from both groups and the metabolic profile (glycemic status, lipid profile, blood pressure and renal indices) were measured. New anthropometric indices (ABSI, BAI, LAP, AVI, Conicity) were calculated by the formula. Individuals were excluded if they received insulin and anti-inflammatory agents). Pearson’s correlation and Multiple Logestic Regression were used to assess the objectives. Results: Pearson’s - test showed that a positive significant correlation between AVI with FBG (r = 0.78), HbA1c (r = 0.75), LDL (r = 0.14), BUN (r = 0.14), Cr (r = 0.20), Albuminuria (r = 0.50), MAP (r = 0.24) and negative with HDL (r = -0.22) (p < 0.05). Also, this correlation was significant and positive between LAP with FBG (r = 0.74), HbA1c (r = 0.73), LDL (r = 0.24), TG (r = 0.36), TC (r= 0.16), VLDL (r= 0.36), Cr (r= 0.23), Albuminuria (r= 0.44), MAP (r= 0.20), AIP (r= 0.42) and negative with HDL (r = - 0.24) (p < 0.01). In addition, Multiple Logestic Regression showed after the adjustment of confounding factors (sex, age, physical activity and education) BAI (or = 1.20, p < 0.001), LAP (or = 1.11, p < 0.001), AVI (or = 1.83, p < 0.001) and Conicity (or = 1886549.74, p < 0.001) significantly increased the risk of diabetes. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the new predictors of obesity increase the risk of T2DM and metabolic complications related to its.کلیدواژه ها
