چکیده

Magnetic nano-fluid or ferro-fluid is a special kind of nano-fluids in which magnetic nano-particles have been dispersed in a basic fluid like water or oil. Magnetic fluid and its applied concept have first appeared from the results of a research on the spatial technology in NASA in 1965. Since the emergence of the first magnetic fluid, many developments have been occurred to produce magnetic fluids with high quality in order to apply in different technological, medical and scientific fields [1]. Conventional magnetic nano-fluids are typically consisted of the single-range magnetic nanoparticles with diameter 3-15nm. Results of research show that if the particles’ diameters were less than 2nm, their magnetic characteristics will disappear. Nano-particles also should have higher magnetic susceptibility. This research aims to investigate the effect of imposing cross non-homogenous magnetic field on the magnetic nano-fluid in a waved (trapezoid) canal. According to the results obtained in the presence of non-homogenous axial magnetic field, the temperature of waved canal wall has reduced in the range of imposed field which is the result of increasing velocity near the canal wall caused by the imposed field.
