چکیده مقاله:

The outcrop of salt domes is one of the factors influencing the quality of water resources. The study on the effect of salt dome on sediment and water quality in making decisions on water quality management have a special importance in civil and environmental projects. In this research, the effect of Dashti Salt dome located in the Zagros Mountains on the quality of Mond River was studied. Mond River runs through Fars and Bushehr Province in south-western Iran, empties to the Persian Gulf. Sampling of overflow streams from Dashti salt dome was performed to determine the frequency of heavy metals in each harvest and the mean frequency. Also, sampling from stations before and after salt dome was carried out to study the amount of elements in the Mond River along with the sources. The results showed that the Dashti salt dome has a negative effect on the quality characteristics of Mond River. It was shown that the sub plains affected by the entrance of heavy metal elements such as Cu, Cr, CO, Pb and Ni. Tectonic factors such as the Borazjan-Kazeroon fault have also led to the advent of salinity in the South of the region while it is an obstacle for the movement of salinity to the east. In addition, the highest salinity levels are found in areas exposed to the flood of the Mond River. Therefore, water management plans were recommended before using water source in the study area
