Study Gastric Cancer in the World and Iran During 2008 to 2018

Introduction & Aim: GC (Gastric Cancer) is the first death cancer in Iran and the second in the world. In this study, some GC indicators in the world and Iran were compared in 2008 and 2018. Method: Data of study was used of estimates of the International Agency for Research on Cancer in 2008 and 2018. Tableau software was used for the distribution of GC. Results: After analyzing data GC in the world and Iran, Incidence GC in the world in 2008 changed from 9.7% to 5.7% of total cancers in 2018. ASR of new cases in 2008 reduced from 19.7 to 13.5 for per 100,000 people in 2018. Incidence GC in 2008 has increased from 7.8% to 13.6% of total cancers in 2018 for Iran. ASR of GC has increased from 2008 to 2018 in Iran. Incidence GC in men is higher than women. Conclusion: Incidence of GC in Iran has grown significantly during 10 years. Therefore, screening tests and studying epidemiological is suggested for implementing prevention programs, especially for men.
