چکیده مقاله:

Bioactive materials are smart substrates which stimulate the formation of a layer of apatite-like crystal deposits at the material-tooth interface. The mineral deposit and crystals can fill micro-gaps, seals margins, prevent leakage around dental restoration and protect against recurrent caries and failure. These materials are able to promote tooth remineralization and/or inhibit tooth demineralization. In the past fluoride mineral was the only agent which could regenerate and maintain the dentinal structure. However, there are other bioactive materials such as calcium silicates and calcium phosphates which can be used in restorative dentistry. This presentation would be a review of bioactive materials not only fluoride containing materials in restorative dentistry and also would present some bioactive materials by their trade name
